Candy candy candy!!! Yippee it's finally candy time, and guess what, it's all calorie free😉
Wow, no space for idling away today as we have rounded up, yes literally all the ear candy you need to fill your trolley and even better, your treasure chest with.
Whatever your style is, whatever the occasion, the not so humble earring can take an outfit from absolute snooze level to stratospheric level gorgeousness.
I know this is not news, not even the fact that in the arena of earrings in 2017, bigger is definitely better. But the fact that you can upgrade an outfit in nano seconds with a work of art( yes art) for less than a fiver, we think is an absolute cocker!!!!!!
This season, the selection is so extensive that the temptation to enrich my collection is just overwhelming. I must confess that as someone who really only wears vintage costume earrings, I am indeed pleasantly surprised by what is on offer, and terribly tempted.
The surprise best in show for me would have to be the abstract shaped hammered drop earrings in various metallic tones and lengths.
With the added feature of coming in mismatched pairs , meaning - you can pair as you like or simply wear as a mono earring as seen at Prada. So so rock and roll... so chic.
I must confess that I am personally terribly fond of pieces from Marni...
The duo at Dolce and Gabbana have now made it a fashion faux pas to not own a piece of fruitty tutti in your jewellery collection.
This season, be rest assured that there is nothing trashy or garish about this style. With designs coming in very understated surprisingly wearable designs, enamelling at Dolce and Gabbana, bejewelled at mango and a huge variety of other materials.
Even better, in subdued yet summery colors.
I have to say my favourite fruits where from Mango, not ironic at all.
The choice is limitless and styling effortless too.
Hooray to the traditional chandelier earrings which this season comes all dressed up in fluff, feathers, diamante, pompom and loads more.
Nothing traditional here, is it a hoop, a chandelier, a chanderhoop??
Shall we say that girly pink never looked more grown up and chic.
To the rather grown up amongst us who refuse to be fluffed or pompomed to high heavens a whole selection of vintage inspired array of earrings exist this season. Below, I have mischieviously mixed in a vintage classic Oscar De La Renta ear piece just to show how collectable all these pieces are.
To make this foray into costume earring shopping enjoyable, I have below what I like to call my 7 rules for orgasmic ear candy shopping, guaranteed to ensure you look your abfab best😎
1.If new to the game, start on the high street and start with a simple piece.
2. If buying value pieces on the high street, be aware that cheaper metals are more likely to be irritant to skin. Plastic based, leather backed pieces etc are better options.
3. Know what shape suits your face.
4.As with all things, investment pieces work out best value for money.
5. If splurging, go for Heritage established brand names as they have resale value. You will be surprised at how brands like Yves Saint Laurent hold and increase in value over time.
6.Buy vintage as better value collectible pieces, but remember most come as clip on....the clue is in the letter P.....clip on's can be painful to the uninitiated.
7.Have fun, go big or go home ...
What is your favourite I wonder? For the less convinced amongst us, there has never been a better time to explore costume jewellery, with prices starting at less than a fiver for beautiful pieces to collectible future heirlooms, why not have a go and see what you think.
