How wonderful that the summer of '17 is going out in style.
Bright hot sunny style...
With all things this bank holiday carnival focused, I wasn't going to be left out when it came to choosing an outfit for a date with the hubster.....
Being an absolute sucker for all things maxi, tiered, and surprise surprise...colourful, my all time carnival look was based around this fabulous Stella Jean skirt which remains on my forever favorite list but sadly the one that got away..
Always remaining positive and one for moving on and archiving past loves, I styled my look with this fabulous HMxKenzo skirt I scored last summer.
Totally practicing what I preach by adding this stunning classic future vintage piece to my collection.
If I may digress.....Just adding as a public plea here, if you find the Stella Jean raffia skirt in any size above 8 pleeeeeeez let me know.
As simplicity brings out the beauty in statement items, I paired my skirt with a simple T shirt, paying an ode to my favorite print magazine.
To complete the look I've accessorized with a playful pink bear paw claw bag and simple classic slides.
What is it about pleated skirts that make us want to swirl and peacock, even do the cha cha cha ? Is it just me? Surely not....
For this whole simple yet carnival chic look, I have clearly shopped my own wardrobe, wearing items I already own.
This works because as a habit I buy classic items which do not date, mixing this up with playful pieces to maintain a modern fresh balance.
If you fancy trying to recreate my look, I have found some icon pieces to help achieve that simple chic look.
Hope you enjoy the carnival....
As always, thank you for stopping by......
