Well well well!!!! What a hurricane of a fashion month we've had, I can't believe it's all over.
Loads to see, gush about and reminisce over.
So many trends on and off the runway and even more fantastic was the originality of most.
For me , I would have to say that our English design houses totally surpassed my imagination with their superb skills, talent and originality. Dare I say we were all impressed and made proud.
I have to say the eiderdown chic styles have caught my eyes and last weekend I decided to give it a go ...
Were you as excited to see young ladies at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi striding down the catwalk clad In beautiful Victorian inspired eiderdown gowns and wraps!!!!
It was British heritage galore.
Well, I was and as I love vintage, you can imagine that this would definitely be up my alley, as sadly of all things I collect eiderdowns (I should really get a life 😎).
So yes I was super duper excited to see this trend and loved it all.
As with real life finding an actual eiderdown wider than a single bed to drape around me has proven difficult.(Not that it's an issue of wide body parts, at least not this time 🤓).
Even more difficult to find, a belt long enough to go round without appearing to be emulating models on Junya Watanabe or Commes Des Garçons Runway with all due respect.
With down literarily poking me to death while my ever suffering partner stared in alarm, It finally hit me!!!!!
Yes yes yippee, I could reinterpret the look easily without waiting for it to hit the stores and at an alarmingly fantastic price with this beautiful vintage quilted house coat.
Worn as a light coat with a simple Tshirt and a pair of jeans this coat captures that spirit of recycling and English eccentricity shown by Preen by TB and Johnny Coca at Mulberry.
Fantastically apart from keeping me warm this lovely jacket also served as a makeshift wind vain, two for one..how terribly Useful and oh so eiderdown chic!!!
If you fancy this look, this Fab vintage piece is available in our e-store to buy, and yes while all of fashion week was happening, our little store was born, have a look and see what you think...
