So its pay day weekend and the forecast is less winter and more monsoon but you've got your wellies and Mac ready, because my friend its the end of sales and your last chance to bag all those bargains.....
So what is your modus operandi?
How do you shop the sale?
What do yo buy and what do you avoid???
Even more exciting, what have you bought so far?
This is not a post where I tell you how to shop the sale as darleeen you know you're an expert.
This I hope is a post where I can actually hear from you how you shop yours. So show me yours and I will show you mine.
I hate going into shops as I panic often at the site of mountains of clothes , disorderly messy rows of clothes and worse at the sight of godzillion number of desperate shoppers like myself, so I hide behind my computer and do mine.
Flying solo as the last thing I need is words of wisdom from well meaning Bff's...
Truth be told this means the hubster never actually has any idea what the fiscal damage is.......
# THE LIST
I stick to my master plan from circa 1906...THE LIST
My actual list of things I need/fancy/desire.....
As I might actually suffer a coronary if I paid full price , I buy items which will serve me in the next season while I wait for the next sale, this only obviously works if you are not enslaved to trends.
This sale, I have my eyes on the following....
# Think next season; Jackets
# Think Dresses
Boho, maxi, peasant, tiered, mini you name it, no summer wardrobe is complete without these.
# Think Shorts
Denim, linen with or without matching jackets ( I dream of the summer suit), jumpsuits, little strips of fabric we pay a pound of flesh for at the beginning of summer.... you know which ones
# Think Investment pieces:
Those fabulous pieces that you've been coveting all year.
That pièce de résistance, you know which one.
The one which completes you, ensure's you never suffer from PMS again, never go over your over draft again blaahdi blahhhhhh yes that one.
This one I fear you probably want to go for first.
Is it a bag? though hardly ever so in my case as the bags that do go on sale tend to be trendy ones which I stay firmly away from.
That Burberry trench ?
The Isabelle Marrant boho dress?? Yes yes yes to every thing by this genius.
That statement Marni earring or bib necklace?
Personally I aim to buy one good dress per season, you can never go wrong with a classic maxi silk dress also often enough the tops cost the same as the dresses.
The Avenue32 team have such fantastic taste and do the most marvelous sales and I would head there first. The OUTNET is also another good one and if you fancy trying the dresses out first, Matches outlet in Hackney East London is a good store to visit.
# Think what can I get rid of?
Very important as the habit of selling, giving to charity or recycling is really one we should all cultivate.
Why not be charitable, create wealth, save the earth while looking fabulous..
Now its your turn, show me what you got....
