Sitting on my rather worn sofa today, I can't help but feel excited about the prospect of spring. Truly excited beyond words at the thought of pulling out my spring box, and dragging out my well worn flimsy chiffony pieces that never fail to serve me, even more excited to see what the stores have to offer.
Shall I just say that I have not been disappointed.
From our high streets to high end stores, the offerings are simply beyond bountiful.
For me, with the very first cherry blooms I start longing for long silk chiffony billowy dresses in the palest of hues, obviously influenced by images of Chloe girls in sumptuous silk and tassels and those of original boho chic women of the sixties and seventies.
Without going into the painful details of our incredibly predictable English weather, the tendency is to start the season in dresses with sleeves to actually avoid a crickey frost bite.
As the weather gets warmer, the light jacket goes, followed by the sleeves and boom suddenly there is an explosion of colour everywhere and even more in our wardrobes as we are filled with endorphins.
This year I intend to update my wardrobe with this gorgeous pink dress from Mango, toned down with a simple brown flat sandals or for evenings a metallic version with statement earrings and quintessential Farrah Fawcett inspired cascading hair do.
The classic floral print maxi for those with slightly more subdued taste as bright pink I have to say takes getting used to, is always a favourite of mine. This year the high street have gone above and beyond with pieces equally as beautiful as their designer counterparts.
If understated minimal billowy business is your style , then say no more as the classic white summer dress is updated this season allowing quite easily a transition from lunch to evening cocktails without the need to change your outfit.
The boho look as everyone knows is incomplete without the right accessories.
Keeping this look up to date is simple as it simply does not date.
What is not to love about the coolest most beautiful season of all, worst case scenario it ends in summer....
